Import Extensions Configuration
Import extensions are special scripts built to import content into addedValues enabled websites from a specific source. As shipped, addedValues contains several useful import extensions
- CSVGemToMembers - accepts a comma value seperated text file, uploaded as a Manila GEM, as produced by many spreadshheet and simple database programs, and attempts to load values into addedValues membership variables within a website membership group.
- NewsToStories - converts all news items of a news based Manila website into stories with addedValues variables. This can be a more flexible way of displaying new text.
- TabbedGemToMessages - accepts a tab delimited text file, uploaded as a Manila GEM, as produced by many spreadshheet and simple database programs, and attempts to load values into addedValues message variables within a website discussion group.
- XMLToDG - accepts an XML formatted text file, uploaded as a Manila GEM,end attempts to load values into addedValues message variables within a website discussion group.
To see the proeprties of, and therefore to modify an import extension, for example to make it availabl server wide, choose its name from the 'Modify Extension" dropdown menu; and click 'Modiy Import Extension'.
