addedValue Tropes in addedValuesDocs.
A Trope is a Manila web application built using addedValues. When you define a trope, you declare an existing running web application as a single package that can be copied to websites running on another Manila server. You do retain control of the circumstances under which a trope is copied.
There are 4 major constituents of a trope,
- Prerequisites - Manila configuration choices that the trope assumes will apply in the destination website.
- Schema - the addedValues variables and queries, forms, reports, and other entities that are the mechanism of the web application
- Content - the content pages to receive search results, call queries etc.
- Configuration - optional , set parameters of the web application.
A trope is not concerned with look and feel settings, such as templates, navigation and style sheets, as these are best packaged into Manila themes.
