Semantics
Returns a localised, and optionally custom formatted, long date string. The value returned is localised to the language of the day and month names (long and abbreviated) and if not customised, by the date format as used by Manila. Only the langauges supported by Manila are supported, the default is the server default languageif set, otherwise English. The default date order in short date format is the US inverted month/day. Customisation allows for changing the order, or deleting, of date components such as day number, year number, etc. You can also add literal text. Customisation is initated from the addedValues preference page for each individual Manila website.
